Fat Thursday

Fat Thursday is a favorite day of all food lovers. It happens every last Thursday of a carnival, exactly 52 days before Easter. The tradition of Fat Thursday in Poland started in the 16th century when people ate donuts filled with lard accompanied with vodka. It is believed that the creator of donuts was Balabuch, a baker from Kiev. Currently the most popular donuts are the ones with sweet rose filling. However, every year the bakeries compete with each other to create more and more original recipes for donuts. Bon appetit!
